EHS Specialist – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

Julphar is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives within its pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Ras Al Khaimah. You will ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs aligned with GMP, biosafety, chemical safety, and occupational health standards.
• Monitor and interpret EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and support audits and inspections.
• Conduct risk assessments (JSA, HIRA, HAZOP) and manage hazardous waste, chemical, and biosafety programs.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Design and deliver EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Perform routine inspections, internal audits, and environmental monitoring (air quality, noise, ergonomics).
• Track and report EHS KPIs such as TRIR, LTIR, near‑misses, and waste metrics.
• Maintain emergency response plans for fire, spills, biological incidents, and natural disasters.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of EHS best practices in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with GMP, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local UAE regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and manage safety programs.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills for incident handling.
