Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Gradiant, a leading provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join its Dubai manufacturing team. The role involves designing, reviewing and commissioning electrical power and instrumentation systems for critical industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, load lists, earthing and lightning protection layouts, power distribution schematics, cable sizing calculations and equipment specifications (MCC, DB, transformers).
• Evaluate vendor quotations, review GA drawings, wiring diagrams and type‑test reports, and prepare technical bid evaluations.
• Supervise on‑site installation of LV/MV equipment, cable routing, termination, earthing works and perform electrical testing (IR, HV, continuity, functional checks).
• Support energisation, motor solo runs, loop checks and overall commissioning activities.
• Create instrumentation design documents including P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, datasheets, hook‑up and loop diagrams, and specify field instruments and analyzers.
• Prepare RFQs, review vendor proposals, participate in FAT/SAT, and manage technical clarifications.
• Oversee field installation, calibration, loop checking and functional testing of instrumentation, and troubleshoot issues during plant commissioning.
• Develop control system engineering artefacts such as control philosophy, functional design specifications and HMI/SCADA interfaces.

Required profile

• Minimum 60 months (5 years) of relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering for industrial projects.
• Proven ability to work on‑site, supervise installation teams and coordinate with vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to power distribution and control systems.
