Electrical Draftsman – Water Treatment (Dubai)

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Draftsman to produce technical drawings for electrical, instrumentation and automation systems within the Water Treatment division in Dubai. The role involves creating design, shop and as‑built drawings using AutoCAD and collaborating with engineers to ensure accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design, shop and as‑built drawings for electrical, instrumentation and automation systems.
• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and drawings for MCCs, MDBs, SMDBs and DBs.
• Create PLC schematic diagrams and internal panel layouts.
• Design lighting, small power, cable tray and cable routing layouts.
• Produce instrumentation loop and hook‑up drawings.
• Review project specifications and coordinate with engineers for revisions.
• Incorporate client and consultant comments and update drawings to final as‑built status.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITI/Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical drafting experience, preferably in water & wastewater treatment or similar industrial projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Single Line Diagrams, MCC, MDB, SMDB and DB drawings.
• Ability to create PLC schematics and panel layouts.
• Knowledge of lighting, small power, cable tray and cable routing design.
• Skill in producing instrumentation loop and hook‑up drawings.
