Engineer - Quality Assurance And Control

About the role

The Engineer – Quality Assurance and Control will support the implementation of Al Ghurair’s Quality Management System across EtihadWE substation projects in Dubai. The role focuses on ensuring civil works meet all standards, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements while fostering a first‑time‑right quality culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists and related quality procedures for civil works.
• Review approved construction drawings, specifications, BOQs and method statements to extract applicable quality requirements.
• Conduct inspections of civil construction activities, including reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, foundations, cable trenches, drainage systems and related structures.
• Verify incoming materials against approved submittals and relevant standards.
• Witness concrete batching, perform slump and cube tests, and review all material test reports.
• Monitor quality performance, close NCRs, observations, punch points and consultant/client comments in a timely manner.
• Support internal and external quality audits and drive continual improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience working on civil construction projects for power substations or similar infrastructure.
• Familiarity with EtihadWE standards, IFC drawings and typical method statements.
• Ability to communicate quality requirements clearly to construction teams and subcontractors.
