Engineering Director

About the role

RED TIC is seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Director to lead its engineering teams and drive the development of cutting‑edge solutions. In this senior role you will shape the engineering strategy, mentor talent, and ensure the successful delivery of innovative products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for the engineering department aligned with overall business goals.
• Lead, mentor and inspire engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
• Oversee planning, execution and delivery of complex engineering projects, meeting quality, timeline and budget targets.
• Collaborate with product, operations and business stakeholders to align engineering efforts with priorities.
• Establish and enforce best practices, processes and methodologies to optimise efficiency and quality.
• Manage resource allocation, talent development and future staffing needs.
• Drive technological advancements and adoption of state‑of‑the‑art tools, frameworks and techniques.
• Monitor KPIs, address technical challenges, mitigate risks and resolve bottlenecks.
• Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale engineering projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.
• Hands‑on experience with modern engineering tools, technologies and architectures.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long‑term vision and immediate priorities.
• Experience in fast‑paced, dynamic environments such as tech startups is a plus.
