Engineering Efficiency & Assurance Lead

About the role

The Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead will act as the technical gatekeeper for a leading telecommunications infrastructure organisation. Reporting to the Group Engineering function in Dubai, the role bridges design intent with operational performance across a vast tower portfolio in Africa and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Review, challenge and independently validate complex product designs to ensure safety, maintainability and practicality before field deployment.
• Drive performance optimisation by translating engineering concepts into cost‑efficient field solutions.
• Lead energy‑efficiency programmes, reducing diesel generator run‑hours and supporting net‑zero pathways.
• Manage proof‑of‑concept and live pilot trials of hybrid technologies, equipment configurations and renewable solutions.
• Analyse asset lifecycle trends and failures to deliver continuous improvement, cost avoidance and warranty recovery.
• Confirm that deployed systems meet the technical performance and financial business case defined at design stage.

Required profile

• Proven experience in engineering assurance, technical validation or engineering governance with direct accountability for asset performance.
• Deep expertise in power systems engineering within telecom, critical‑power or heavy‑infrastructure environments.
• Track record of leading energy‑efficiency, fuel‑reduction or green‑technology optimisation programmes.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen for lifecycle cost analysis, TCO and ROI assessments.
• Ability to influence across multiple markets and translate standards into clear field guidance.
