Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the Head of Engineering in delivering cost‑effective designs and tender proposals for NMDC Dredging and Marine projects. The role involves leading the engineering team, coordinating with consultants and project managers, and ensuring compliance with QA/QC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Engineering in design and evaluation of tender proposals and project designs.
• Communicate proactively with department managers on engineering aspects.
• Provide timely responses to engineering questions related to tenders and projects.
• Develop cost‑efficient alternative designs and value‑engineering solutions.
• Review and verify tender/project designs, proposing improvements as needed.
• Prepare design drawings, specifications, and full engineering data packages for detailed design, FEED endorsement, and clarification queries.
• Define scopes of work for consultants and manage their deliverables to protect NMDC’s interests.
• Support the tender team in adapting construction methodology to optimal designs.
• Liaise with Project and Engineering Managers to ensure alignment on project execution.
• Lead research and development activities related to engineering.
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures, standards, and contractual obligations.
• Identify and evaluate major risks and opportunities within the engineering department.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and knowledge management for the engineering team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or Coastal) or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of engineering and design experience in related industries.
