Engineering Supervisor

About the role

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the efficient maintenance, repair, and operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. The role supports the Cluster Director of Engineering and Assistant Engineering Manager in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and operational environment for guests and team members while ensuring compliance with company standards, health and safety regulations, and preventive maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities across the hotel.
• Assign, monitor, and inspect maintenance work performed by technicians and contractors.
• Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, laundry, and building systems function effectively.
• Support implementation of preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely completion.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house facilities, and plant rooms.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fire‑life safety standards.
• Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs.
• Assist in monitoring departmental inventory, tools, spare parts, and supplies.
• Support energy‑conservation initiatives and cost‑control measures.
• Train, coach, and develop engineering team members to uphold high performance standards.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimise disruption to guests during maintenance activities.
• Assist the Cluster Director of Engineering and Assistant Engineering Manager with budgeting, project planning, and contractor management.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in the hospitality industry.
• Previous supervisory experience in a hotel engineering department preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and workplace safety requirements.
• Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
