Engineering Technician – General Technician

About the role

The General Technician ensures that all hotel facilities, equipment and guest areas are kept in safe, efficient and operational condition. Working across multiple trades, you will provide prompt preventive and corrective maintenance support to guests and operational departments at voco Dubai Palm.

Key responsibilities

• Handle engineering repair supplies, spare parts, tools and equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to the Engineering Maintenance Schedule.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders promptly.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house areas and plant rooms.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC issues.
• Coordinate work schedules with the Team Leader, Duty Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.
• Follow all Engineering SOPs, safety procedures and hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health, safety and environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshops, plant rooms and work areas.
• Participate in the Hotel Energy Conservation Program.

Required profile

• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple trades.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC problems.
• Familiarity with hotel energy‑conservation initiatives.
• Commitment to safety, fire, hygiene, health and environmental standards.
