EPLAN Draughtsman – Electrical Design Specialist

About the role

The Draughtsman (EPLAN/ELCAD) will create accurate electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation for turnkey power projects. Working within Emirates Electrical Engineering, you will translate engineering concepts into detailed drawings that meet industry standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop General Arrangement, layout and assembly drawings for control and protection panels, including cubicles and sub‑assemblies.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for sheet‑metal components, mounting plates, sub‑panels and busbar systems with full dimensions and tolerances.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, termination drawings and panel layouts using EPLAN based on engineering inputs.
• Generate and maintain device tags, cable schedules, terminal diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, client specifications and applicable codes such as IEC and NFPA.
• Update and revise drawings in response to engineering changes, site feedback and as‑built requirements while maintaining version control.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers and production teams to convert concepts into manufacturable drawings.
• Optimize component placement and panel layouts for accessibility, maintainability and thermal performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience creating electrical drawings with EPLAN or ELCAD.
• Familiarity with IEC and NFPA standards for electrical design.
• Ability to produce detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for panels and sheet‑metal parts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage drawing revisions and version control.
• Effective collaboration with engineering, project and production teams.
