Estimation Engineer – Fire & Life Safety Systems

About the role

Join NAFFCO as an Estimation Engineer focusing on fire and life safety systems. You will prepare accurate BOQs, tenders and cost proposals to support safe, compliant projects in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and scopes.
• Prepare material take‑offs and BOQs for fire alarm, emergency lighting and voice evacuation systems.
• Select compliant equipment and calculate costs for installation, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate with sales, design, engineering, procurement and project teams to resolve discrepancies and support negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Communication Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of estimation experience in fire and life safety or ELV systems, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Strong analytical, commercial and communication skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Addressable and conventional fire alarm and detection systems.
• Emergency and exit lighting systems (central battery and self‑contained).
• Voice evacuation and public address systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, BS 5839, IEC standards and UAE Civil Defence regulations.
• Familiarity with BMS, HVAC, access control, firefighting and ELV interfaces.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimation or ERP software and Excel costing tools.
