Estimation Engineer – Firefighting

About the role

The Estimation Engineer – Firefighting will prepare and review technical and commercial estimates for fire‑protection and life‑safety systems. You will work closely with project, procurement and design teams to deliver accurate Bill of Quantities, cost plans and tender submissions that meet NFPA, BS and local authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and BOQs for wet/dry risers, sprinklers, deluge systems, hydrants, foam systems, pumps and water supplies.
• Quantify materials, labour, plant and subcontract packages based on approved drawings and specifications.
• Develop unit rates, labour productivity assumptions and price build‑ups for cost schedules.
• Review design drawings and specifications for compliance with NFPA, BS and local codes, identifying ambiguities and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations, maintain rate databases and support procurement activities.
• Produce preliminary cost plans, budget estimates and sensitivity analyses for bid/no‑bid decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to align estimates with programme constraints and contribute to post‑tender reviews.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 2–6 years of experience estimating firefighting, sprinkler and life‑safety systems, preferably on UAE/GCC projects.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and a valid UAE driving licence (advantageous).
