Executive Sous Chef

About the role

Southern Sun is seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to lead its kitchen operations in Abu Dhabi. The role combines financial stewardship, team leadership, and culinary creativity to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage kitchen finances, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Interpret and apply HR policies and legislative requirements.
• Maintain the highest standards of health, hygiene, food safety, and professional appearance.
• Oversee purchasing, deliveries, stock management and cost control.
• Develop and execute action plans that exceed guest expectations.
• Coordinate inter‑departmental cooperation to anticipate and exceed guest needs.
• Ensure consistent high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
• Drive menu innovation, incorporating current culinary trends.
• Lead premium steakhouse and fine‑dining operations, including meat preparation, ageing and presentation.
• Mentor and develop the culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hotel Management or a qualified Chef Diploma (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Advanced hospitality management studies are advantageous.
• 10–13 years of progressive experience in hospitality, rising from Commis Chef to Chef de Cuisine.
