Finance Specialist (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

As a Finance Specialist within the Indirect Tax Team of Emirates Group, you will support Group Financial Reporting, Assurance and Taxation (GFR A&T) by ensuring compliance with UAE VAT, Excise Tax and other indirect taxes (excluding ticket taxes). You will play a key role in maintaining internal controls, delivering accurate tax reporting and advising internal and external stakeholders on tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate activities and provide compliance assurance on indirect taxes, driving process and system enhancements.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions in line with Group Finance Policies.
• Coordinate with external, internal and government auditors, supplying analytical information to resolve queries.
• Prepare and compile tax data reports for UAE VAT returns and refund filings on a periodic basis.
• Perform multi‑level reconciliations between tax returns, ERP, e‑Invoicing ASP reports and the FTA portal.
• Review and validate tax reporting outputs, including returns, reconciliations and management assurance reports.
• Participate in VAT and e‑Invoicing implementation discussions for new business processes and system changes.
• Manage FTA audits, ensure ongoing UAE VAT/e‑Invoicing compliance and conduct regular process reviews.
• Support e‑Invoicing implementation projects and take part in User Acceptance Testing.
• Contribute to the indirect tax strategy and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required profile

• Specialist expertise in indirect tax regulations, specifically UAE VAT and Excise Tax.
• Strong understanding of Group finance policies, regulatory requirements and tax obligations.
• Proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders and auditors.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and integrity of tax reporting.
