Finance Specialist – Indirect Tax (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Finance Specialist to join the Indirect Tax Team within Group Financial Reporting, Assurance and Taxation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with UAE VAT, Excise Tax and other indirect taxes, while supporting the accuracy and integrity of tax reporting for a global aviation business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compliance assurance on indirect taxes (excluding ticket taxes) and advise senior management.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions aligned with Group Finance Policies.
• Coordinate with internal, external and government auditors, supplying analytical information to resolve queries.
• Generate and compile tax data reports for periodic UAE VAT returns and refund filings.
• Perform multi‑level reconciliations between returns, ERP, e‑Invoicing reports and FTA portal data.
• Prepare, review and validate tax reporting outputs, including returns and management assurance reports.
• Participate in VAT and e‑Invoicing implementation projects, including User Acceptance Testing.
• Manage FTA audits and conduct regular reviews of processes and systems impacting VAT reporting.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UAE indirect tax regulations, particularly VAT and Excise Tax.
• Experience working with tax reporting, audits and compliance in a multinational environment.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and communicate complex tax matters clearly.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
