Financial Controller – Finance Leadership in Dubai

About the role

The organization, a leading player in the maritime sector, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance leadership team in Dubai. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial insight to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements and internal policies.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with business stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis, variance reporting and deliver strategic recommendations.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors and regulators.
• Oversee treasury, cash‑flow management, liquidity planning and banking relationships.
• Manage corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing and overall tax planning.
• Identify process improvements, cost optimisation and operational efficiencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CA) highly preferred.
• 8‑10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role.
• Experience in maritime, shipping, logistics, commodities trading or related industries is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, taxation and internal controls.
• Proven ability to manage external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
