FinCrime Escalations Officer

About the role

Revolut’s Financial Crime Operations team protects customers and their money by detecting and preventing illicit activity. As an Escalations Officer, you will be the senior point of contact for suspicious activity reports (SARs) that have been escalated from the first line of defence, ensuring compliance with local regulations and supporting regulatory inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the escalation point for suspicious activity cases.
• Ensure accurate and timely SARs are submitted according to local requirements.
• Respond to regulatory inquiries and requests from local authorities related to SARs.
• Manage queries that require a second‑line review.
• Collaborate with the MLRO and escalate significant cases as needed.
• Monitor and detect rare or emerging patterns, reporting trends in suspicious activity.
• Resolve escalated cases within expected resolution times.
• Support training initiatives and the implementation of new processes.

Required profile

• Experience as a compliance or FinCrime officer in a major financial institution.
• Proven experience in FinCrime operations acting as an escalation point.
• Deep knowledge of AML and sanctions regulations.
• Experience using internal and external systems and databases to conduct investigations.
• Ability to review policies and procedures and recommend changes.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the capacity to analyse complex information and drive resolutions.
