Gas Turbine Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer

About the role

PowerTech is seeking an experienced Aerodynamics Engineer to lead gas turbine turbomachinery design and analysis within its turbojet and turbofan development programs. The role combines advanced aerodynamic modelling, test data interpretation, and technical leadership to drive engine performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic design and off‑design analysis of gas‑turbine turbomachinery.
• Post‑process engine test data and generate testing guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align design objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for engine architectural studies and define performance metrics.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor team performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑15+ years of experience in gas‑turbine propulsion, turbomachinery design, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Hands‑on experience with axial and centrifugal compressors, turbines, and related optimisation.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Commercial turbomachinery tools such as Concepts NREC, AxStream or equivalents.
• CFD tools – Ansys CFX, Numeca/Cadence, Fluent.
• Programming proficiency in C and Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience with coatings and cooling technologies.
• Multi‑point and multi‑disciplinary optimisation techniques.
