Lead Design Engineer – Turrets & Weapon Systems

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer for Turrets & Weapon Systems to drive development from concept through prototype manufacturing, integration and verification. The role combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, mentoring a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of manned and unmanned turrets, including Remote Weapon Stations.
• Perform CAD design, engineering calculations, material and subsystem selection, and requirements analysis.
• Mentor engineers and designers, define technical tasks and priorities.
• Own design packages from concept through prototype verification and support manufacturing, assembly and testing.
• Conduct systems engineering activities and ensure integration between subsystems.
• Review and verify Technical Data Packs for accuracy and completeness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years experience in Turrets & Weapon Systems design and development.
• At least 2 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong hands‑on experience with turrets, Remote Weapon Stations and related subsystems.
• Proven ability to take designs from concept through prototype verification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Experience using PLM systems.
• Knowledge of CAE analysis tools.
• MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
