General Manager – Facilities Management

About the role

Ali & Sons seeks an experienced General Manager to lead its Facilities Management business. This senior leadership role combines strategic direction, operational excellence, and commercial growth to build a high‑performing, sustainable FM organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic direction, P&L and overall performance of the FM company.
• Oversee integrated Hard FM and Soft FM operations across multiple contracts and locations.
• Drive service quality, productivity, profitability and compliance with SLAs, KPIs, HSE and regulatory requirements.
• Lead contract mobilisations, renewals, variations and commercial negotiations.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, consultants, government entities and strategic stakeholders.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities, tenders, cross‑selling and new contracts.
• Strengthen asset management, CAFM/CMMS utilisation, preventive maintenance and digital FM capabilities.
• Lead senior management teams, succession planning, talent development and a high‑performance culture.
• Champion continuous improvement, sustainability, smart FM and operational transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• 15+ years of Facilities Management experience with senior leadership responsibility.
• Proven track record in leading large‑scale integrated Hard & Soft FM operations.
• Strong P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting and profitability improvement experience.
• Extensive experience managing multiple complex FM contracts and client portfolios.
• Commercial acumen in tenders, contract renewals and negotiations.
• Deep knowledge of UAE FM regulations, Civil Defence, HSE and statutory requirements.
• Experience engaging senior clients, developers, consultants and government stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, FM, Business Administration or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Relevant certifications (CFM, FMP, IWFM, IFMA, PMP) are a plus.
