General Manager – UAE (Paints & Coatings)

About the role

This senior, commercially focused position carries full P&L accountability for the UAE business of a leading paints and coatings company. Reporting to Executive Leadership, the General Manager will shape strategy, drive profitable growth and act as the senior representative of the business in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Own the complete P&L for the UAE operation, managing revenue, margins, cash flow and working capital.
• Develop and execute the annual business strategy, budget and operating plan aligned with group objectives.
• Drive commercial growth through market development, key‑account management, new business acquisition and channel/distributor expansion.
• Lead pricing, product mix and customer profitability initiatives to ensure sustainable performance.
• Provide leadership across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Technical/R&D, Quality and HR for cross‑functional execution.
• Oversee operational and manufacturing performance to support commercial growth, ensuring capacity, service and quality.
• Maintain strong relationships with major customers, distributors, contractors, consultants and strategic stakeholders.
• Report regularly to Group Management on financial results, commercial activity, risks and strategic priorities.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive commercial/business experience, preferably in paints & coatings, specialty chemicals or related industrial sectors.
• Proven experience as a General Manager, Country Manager, Commercial Director or Business Unit Head with full P&L responsibility.
• Demonstrated track record of commercial growth, market development and channel expansion in the UAE.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing and working‑capital management.
• Leadership capability to build and develop high‑performing multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience operating in a multicultural, regional or international business environment.
