General Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The General Technician will support Engineering and Maintenance operations at Desert Islands Resort & Spa. You will ensure the property remains safe, comfortable and well‑maintained for guests and staff through prompt repairs and routine upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance across the hotel.
• Respond to maintenance requests for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, air‑conditioning and general building issues.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces and equipment regularly.
• Perform basic AC cleaning and servicing as needed.
• Execute minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general maintenance.
• Report major defects and equipment failures to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Assist specialised technicians and contractors when required.
• Maintain tools, equipment and materials in proper condition and store them safely.
• Follow health, safety, environmental and operational procedures.
• Support energy‑conservation and sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Ability to work promptly and safely on a variety of maintenance tasks.
• Good physical stamina and attention to detail.
