Global Field Service Engineer - Electrical

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Global BRUSH Team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for commissioning, installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading large rotating electrical machines and their control systems for critical power‑generation projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Commission HV generators, motors, synchronous condensers, power management systems and excitation controllers (AVRs).
• Upgrade AVRs, PMS, synchronisers, protection relays and related control equipment.
• Perform electrical testing on high‑ and low‑voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
• Deliver product training to clients and field service colleagues.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and requirements.
• Attend on‑site technical meetings and prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Support mechanical service engineers on multidisciplinary assignments.

Required profile

• Accredited qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power generation and distribution systems.
• Ability to work independently, travel extensively (≈29 weeks per year) and operate offshore.
• Strong commercial awareness and effective communication in English.
