Government Affairs Lead - Middle East UAE or Saudi Arabia Based

About the role

Cohere, a security‑first enterprise AI company, is building a Government Affairs and Public Policy team to shape AI policy in the Gulf region. As the Government Affairs Lead for the Middle East, you will be the primary voice of Cohere with ministries, regulators and innovation agencies across the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Cohere’s government affairs and stakeholder‑engagement strategy for the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with ministries, regulatory bodies, public‑sector organisations and sovereign entities.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting AI, digital transformation and public‑sector procurement.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership, legal, responsible‑AI, communications and commercial teams.
• Represent Cohere at policy forums, industry events and high‑level government meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in government affairs, public policy or related roles within the Middle East.
• Deep understanding of AI, digital innovation and public‑sector procurement processes.
• Strong network with government officials and policy makers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and senior executives.
