Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in AECOM’s Abu Dhabi Graduate Programme, you will join a multidisciplinary team delivering infrastructure projects. The role provides hands‑on experience in building construction supervision, design development and BIM coordination, while applying your academic knowledge to real‑world challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams and project models under senior engineer guidance.
• Apply design and technical knowledge to produce high‑quality outputs within project timelines.
• Assist in maintaining project budgets and schedules under supervision.
• Collect and analyse information from discipline‑specific and interdisciplinary BIM models.
• Utilise computer software to solve fundamental engineering problems.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure design continuity.
• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Review BIM/CAD models for accuracy and quality.
• Contribute to problem‑solving, drive efficiencies and apply theoretical knowledge to atypical challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Graduated in 2025 or 2026 with a minimum GPA of 2.8 (or equivalent).
• UAE national holding a family book, in line with Emiratisation policy.

Required skills

• BIM (Building Information Modelling) proficiency.
• CAD (Computer‑Aided Design) proficiency.
• Experience with engineering design software.
