Head Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Head Accountant to lead our finance team in Dubai. The role involves overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the accounting team and enforce proper accounting policies and internal controls.
• Lead the company’s ERP migration and manage online banking operations.
• Review and approve all accounting transactions, payments, and banking activities.
• Prepare external financial reports for banks, suppliers, and government entities.
• Handle employee visa processing, payroll, and benefits calculations.
• Review VAT returns and refunds, ensuring accuracy before submission to the FTA.
• Execute month‑end close activities, reconciliations, and final financial statements.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management.
• Coordinate year‑end inventory count and act as the primary contact for external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy with CA/CPA certification.
• Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience in a supervisory role within product trading or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT guidelines and corporate/personal tax.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver accurate financial statements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
