Head Cargo Enablement

About the role

The Head Cargo Enablement will act as the primary bridge between Cargo Strategy, Operations, and Technology at Etihad Airways. The role drives the division’s transformation portfolio, embedding digital thinking and intelligent automation to improve performance, operational efficiency, and the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and re‑engineer inefficient cargo‑facing and internal processes using digital tools and lean principles.
• Support the Chief of Cargo in executing the 2030 Strategy and related transformation mandates.
• Own end‑to‑end implementation of intelligent automation and develop new models for business optimization.
• Create a roadmap for continuous digital improvement across vendor‑operated services and cargo operations.
• Champion agile and design‑thinking practices to define and test digital use cases in the customer journey.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to digitalise KPI tracking, quality monitoring, and issue‑resolution workflows.
• Lead divisional programs focused on customer engagement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
• Design a performance framework to measure portfolio outcomes and monitor benefits against targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Digital Transformation, IT or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience leading high‑impact initiatives that improve shipper/forwarder experience, reduce costs and enhance supply‑chain efficiency in a global organization.
• Strong understanding of cargo management systems, e‑freight standards (eAWB) and digital booking platforms.
• Proven ability to deliver results using agile methodologies and continuous‑improvement frameworks such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and data‑analysis capabilities.
