Head Hostess

About the role

The Head Hostess will lead the reception and reservation operations at SLS Dubai, a luxury 5‑star hotel within the Accor portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, this role ensures seamless guest experiences, maximises revenue, and drives a high‑performing team in a dynamic, upscale environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the smooth operation of each reservation and reception shift.
• Maximise revenue opportunities while consistently exceeding guest expectations.
• Develop, motivate and manage a high‑performing front‑of‑house team.
• Maintain a presentable composure on the floor and uphold departmental standards.
• Conduct on‑the‑job and off‑the‑job training for reception staff.
• Manage employee scheduling to align with business levels, optimise productivity and control payroll costs.
• Lead customer relationship initiatives and handle guest queries or complaints within 24 hours.
• Coordinate with kitchen and restaurant teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Create organised filing systems and oversee timely administration of correspondence.
• Develop training calendars, appraisal processes and identify development needs within the department.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a luxury hotel or similar hospitality setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive, direct relationships with colleagues and management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scheduling, recruitment and staff development.
• Commitment to delivering clear goals, maintaining high service standards and driving continuous improvement.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism on the floor at all times.
