Head of Compliance – High‑Risk Trading Clients

About the role

The role is a segment‑specific compliance and financial crime control position, responsible for the Forex/CFD broker and trading‑platform client portfolio. Reporting to the Group compliance function, the Head of Compliance will ensure onboarding, monitoring and risk classification are defensible, proportionate and regulator‑ready across all entities.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end compliance and financial crime risk management for the forex/CFD broker and trading‑platform client book.
• Design and maintain segment‑specific onboarding, enhanced due‑diligence and risk‑rating methodologies.
• Develop and tune transaction‑monitoring scenarios for broker/FX flow patterns.
• Act as the technical liaison with regulators such as FCA, CSSF, DFSA on matters concerning this client segment.
• Collaborate with Group Compliance to align segment practice with group‑wide AML/KYC policy and reporting.
• Provide pragmatic, risk‑based guidance to commercial and onboarding teams.
• Escalate emerging risks, licensing mismatches, sanctions exposure and structural red flags to the Group CRCO and Board.
• Serve as escalation point for AML concerns and advise first‑line teams and MLROs on client activity.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience as an MLRO or Head of Financial Crime Compliance within a Forex/CFD broker or trading platform.
• Deep understanding of leveraged trading business models, cross‑border client acquisition and FX flow structures.
• Experience interacting with regulators (e.g., FCA, CSSF, DFSA) and preparing regulator‑ready documentation.
• Ability to balance growth objectives with regulatory defensibility.
