Head of Procurement (UAE National)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced procurement leader to design and standardise a group‑wide procurement strategy for a large, diversified regional organisation operating across multiple sectors. The role will partner with senior stakeholders to drive sourcing excellence, supplier governance, cost optimisation and procurement transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a unified procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, governance frameworks and approval processes.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for direct and indirect spend categories.
• Drive supplier consolidation to maximise group purchasing leverage.
• Oversee major tenders, RFQs, sourcing strategies and contract negotiations.
• Set up supplier evaluation, performance management and risk assessment frameworks.
• Deliver cost‑saving, value‑engineering and efficiency initiatives while ensuring compliance with audit, regulatory and ethical standards.
• Standardise procurement processes through ERP and procurement systems.
• Provide leadership, coaching and functional direction to procurement teams.

Required profile

• UAE National (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Professional certification such as CIPS preferred.
• 12‑15 years of progressive procurement or supply‑chain experience, with senior leadership in large multi‑entity organisations.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, category management and supplier governance.
• Proven success in high‑value contract negotiations and supplier consolidation.
• Experience with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP).
• Exposure to manufacturing, FMCG, food production, agriculture or industrial sectors is a plus.
