Head of Security

About the role

The Head of Security leads the hotel’s security department, ensuring the safety of guests, employees and assets at all times. Reporting to senior management, this role oversees 24‑hour security coverage, emergency response and the implementation of comprehensive security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and establish the security department, including staffing and budget approval.
• Develop and approve contingency plans for fire, bomb threats, access control, prostitution and other security risks.
• Supervise security staff, schedule shifts and ensure 24‑hour coverage throughout the hotel.
• Maintain compliance with all local laws and hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health and safety.
• Implement and manage access‑control, key‑control and material‑control systems.
• Conduct investigations of theft, vandalism, arson, accidents or any security incident and ensure timely resolution.
• Operate and maintain surveillance equipment according to standards.
• Perform regular security rounds and daily traffic‑management coordination.
• Gather intelligence, brief staff on incidents and update the security log daily.
• Oversee contracted security providers and ensure performance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading security operations, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of United Arab Emirates security regulations and local laws.
• Ability to manage budgets, recruit and train security personnel.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills to coordinate with emergency response teams and hotel management.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, discipline and employee morale.
