Healthcare NET (HNET) Specialist

About the role

The Healthcare NET (HNET) Specialist is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the Healthcare NET connectivity platform that links hospitals, clinics and other healthcare entities. Working with a dual MPLS and SD‑WAN infrastructure, the specialist ensures secure, encrypted data transport, high availability and performance in line with agreed Service Level Agreements and a Secure‑by‑Design approach.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the MPLS and SD‑WAN network, maintaining redundancy, fail‑over and SLA commitments.
• Manage two active/active NSGs with PPPoE WAN connectivity, and administer MPLS routers for BGP route learning and advertisement.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot Cisco ASA firewalls, enforcing rule sets that prevent inter‑hub traffic over SD‑WAN.
• Ensure encryption of all data in transit and apply required security controls across all links.
• Maintain connectivity for published‑application flows and bi‑directional access between entities and central resources.
• Allocate per‑site bandwidth and public IP subnets, and monitor Cloud DDoS protection with incident response.
• Perform capacity, availability and performance monitoring, producing reports and alerts aligned with SLA targets.
• Use Tenable for continuous vulnerability management and security‑posture monitoring of the network estate.
• Support onboarding of new healthcare entities onto the platform.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of experience in network operations and management.
• Strong understanding of MPLS, SD‑WAN, BGP routing and Cisco ASA firewall administration.
• Demonstrated ability to implement Secure‑by‑Design principles and manage encryption for data in transit.
• Experience with incident reporting, capacity planning and SLA‑driven performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in using security tools such as Tenable and handling Cloud DDoS mitigation.
