Hostess – Restaurant & Bar

About the role

The Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests at the Laguna Beach Restaurant & Bar, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. You will manage reservations, greet and seat guests, and support the dining team throughout service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of dining room layout, table setups, capacity, operating hours, price range and dress code.
• Handle telephone calls within three rings, using proper etiquette, and record reservations or cancellations according to departmental standards.
• Communicate reservation changes to management promptly and keep the reservation book up‑to‑date.
• Ensure menus, check folders, and the hostess stand are clean, organized and sufficiently stocked.
• Greet guests at the entrance, assign tables fairly according to the floor plan, and present menus.
• Anticipate peak periods, manage waiting lines efficiently, and respond promptly to guest needs.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel or restaurant operations.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
