HSE Engineer – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

We are looking for a proactive HSE Engineer to lead health, safety and environmental initiatives across our Abu Dhabi operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, ADNOC requirements and international standards while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures and programs.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, ADNOC requirements and international standards.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, safety observations and risk assessments (JSA/JHA).
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near‑misses and prepare investigation reports.
• Monitor PTW, LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, work at height and lifting operations.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and monitor environmental compliance.
• Maintain HSE documentation, reports and statistics.
• Coordinate emergency drills and liaise with clients and authorities.
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Environmental or related).
• Minimum 4 years of HSE engineering experience in construction, with mandatory UAE experience.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) – mandatory.
• ADOSH/OSHAD Practitioner certification – mandatory (or eligibility to obtain).
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 management system.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 management system.
• NEBOSH IGC certification.
• ADOSH/OSHAD Practitioner certification.
