HSE Inspector

About the role

The HSE Inspector will oversee safety compliance for all contractor activities on the railway right‑of‑way in the United Arab Emirates. You will ensure that work is performed safely, in line with the Railway Route Protection Procedure and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct, document and record inspections of contractor activities accessing the railway corridor.
• Verify that permits to work, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place before work starts.
• Monitor on‑site activities for compliance with electrical, signalling, track and safety standards, halting work when hazards are identified.
• Manage access control procedures, issue permits, coordinate rail block notifications and liaise with rail operators and maintenance teams.
• Communicate corrective actions, deliver toolbox talks and follow‑up inspections.
• Prepare inspection reports, support investigations and maintain accurate audit records.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives for access processes and risk controls, ensuring compliance with Dubai Railway Law.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of transport or construction site safety experience, preferably with right‑of‑way access or contractor oversight.
• NEBOSH certification and a valid UAE driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of safety assurance standards, relevant laws and regulations.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to enforce safety rules.
