HSE Lead

About the role

The HSE Lead will develop, implement and continuously improve EDGE’s health, safety and environmental management framework, ensuring a safe, compliant and sustainable manufacturing environment in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and continuously improve site HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments and audit routines.
• Lead hazard identification, incident investigations and root‑cause analysis, ensuring timely corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations and industry standards, including ergonomics and environmental requirements.
• Deliver HSE training programmes, maintain training records and track compliance.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits across shop‑floor, warehouse and laboratory areas, driving closure of findings.
• Monitor and report HSE KPIs using lagging and leading indicators such as TRIR, near‑miss reporting and action‑closure rates.
• Review HSE aspects of process and equipment changes (JSA, LOTO, chemical handling, PPE, emergency preparedness).
• Manage contractor safety and permit‑to‑work processes where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of HSE experience in manufacturing or industrial settings, preferably high‑reliability or high‑mix operations.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and ability to ensure legal compliance.
• Proven experience deploying HSE management systems, leading audits and inspections with effective follow‑up.
• Demonstrated competence in incident investigation and root‑cause analysis delivering measurable reductions in recurrence.
• Relevant HSE qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH; exposure to ISO 45001 or EMS is a plus.
• Hands‑on ability to operate in dynamic, ramp‑up environments involving equipment installation, process changes and contractor activities.
