HSSE Officer – Automotive (UAE National) – Dubai

About the role

The HSSE Officer will lead health, safety, security and environmental initiatives across Al Futtaim Group’s automotive sites in Dubai. Reporting to senior management, the officer ensures compliance with local regulations and internal standards while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections, lead monthly safety committee meetings and achieve measurable reductions in hazards and incidents.
• Manage loss‑prevention activities, including hazard identification, corrective actions and security operation checks.
• Develop and supervise emergency response plans, fire safety inspections, and ensure all sites have certified First Aiders and Fire Wardens.
• Maintain accurate HSSE records, certifications, equipment inventories and ensure availability of emergency procedures and MSDS.
• Monitor regulatory compliance, enforce Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) policies, and support third‑party safety audits.
• Coordinate training, pursue certifications such as Incident Investigator, IOSH Managing Safety, and achieve required quiz scores.

Required profile

• UAE national with proven experience in HSSE roles, preferably within the automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of UAE health, safety, security and environmental legislation.
• Ability to conduct inspections, audits and lead emergency response exercises.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
