Hub Cargo Officer (Shift)

About the role

The Hub Cargo Officer works on a shift basis to manage and complete tasks within a defined timeframe in Etihad's cargo warehouse. The role focuses on planning, oversight, and performance against key metrics such as on‑time departure, cargo quality, and revenue optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor inbound cargo quality, validate weight and volume, and prevent stow loss.
• Manage pre‑alerts, contacts, freight waybills, SHCs and Cargo IQ messaging.
• Implement best practices with service providers to reduce operational discrepancies.
• Optimise space and routes using cargo spot, review connections, and handle load swaps.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and dangerous‑goods regulations, including proper ULD lashing and PPE use.
• Maintain relationships with service providers to achieve on‑time departure performance for freighter and RFS operations.
• Support the Cargo Operations Center Duty Manager in meeting departmental and corporate targets.
• Conduct spot checks on HDU and TRU units and coordinate volume updates.
• Provide on‑job training and coaching to GHA staff.

Required profile

• Minimum high‑school education with specialization in cargo handling.
• Successful completion of cargo, dangerous‑goods, live‑animals, aircraft weight‑and‑balance, and general cargo courses.
• At least 3 years of cargo operations experience.
• Full knowledge of cargo handling processes, procedures and regulatory compliance.
