Hydraulic Hammer Supervisor

About the role

The Hydraulic Hammer Supervisor will lead the crew responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing hydraulic hammers and associated power packs on barge‑based projects. This role ensures equipment readiness, safety compliance and efficient execution of hammering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Train and develop crew in operation, maintenance and repair of hydraulic hammers and power packs.
• Report hammer‑related activities to the Barge Foreman, Barge Superintendent and Field Engineer.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of spare parts and equipment.
• Verify that all required items, hoses and umbilical cables are onboard and correctly set up.
• Keep a detailed log of all hammer‑related activities.
• Supervise dismantling, demobilisation and idle‑period maintenance of hammer equipment.
• Record equipment condition before and after piling to identify maintenance needs.
• Liaise with the Chief Mechanic for timely inspections and maintenance.
• Implement actions that ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct hammering operations safely during emergencies or high‑risk situations.
• Ensure compliance with company codes and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating, maintaining and repairing hydraulic hammers and power packs.
• Ability to train and supervise a crew in technical tasks.
• Strong record‑keeping and inventory management skills.
• Familiarity with barge‑based operations and equipment set‑up.
• Commitment to safety and HSE compliance.
