In-House Counsel – International Crypto & Fintech

About the role

We are a consulting and administration firm serving fast‑moving software companies in crypto and related sectors. We need a senior lawyer to own the legal side of our client deliveries, working early in product design to assess risk and enable rapid launches.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and maintain client documents such as terms of service, privacy policies, contributor and contractor agreements, intercompany arrangements, and partnership agreements.
• Conduct feature‑level risk assessments across the US, EU, UK, Australia, BVI, and Cayman, separating real risk from theoretical risk.
• Build compliance posture covering KYC/AML, sanctions, geo‑restrictions, licensing analysis, and direct local counsel for required opinions.
• Manage outside counsel on cross‑border disputes, coordinate litigation strategy, control spend, and decide when to fight or settle.
• Advise on corporate structuring, entity responsibilities, and group arrangements to isolate liabilities.
• Handle corporate housekeeping, IP matters, and commercial negotiations as needed.

Required profile

• 10+ years of international law experience with deep cross‑border regulatory expertise.
• Hands‑on knowledge of software, crypto, and fintech products, including token launches and payments.
• Proven experience running cross‑border disputes and structuring outcomes.
• Startup background or ability to operate without an internal legal department.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to give clear recommendations on incomplete information.
