Infrastructure Inspector – Dry Utilities

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Inspector focused on dry utilities to join its Abu Dhabi project team. You will be responsible for ensuring that electrical, telecom, street‑lighting and related utility works are built to the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections of dry‑utility construction, verifying compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Inspect installation of utility ducts, chambers, manholes, cable routes, sleeves and crossings.
• Review and verify Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by contractors and confirm readiness for inspection.
• Monitor material quality, workmanship, alignment, levels and protection of dry‑utility networks.
• Witness and inspect testing activities for dry‑utility installations.
• Identify non‑conforming work and coordinate corrective actions with engineers and contractors.
• Coordinate with surveyors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure correct setting‑out, levels, alignment and interface between services.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, site activities, testing results and quality issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in dry‑utility and infrastructure construction, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, telecom, street‑lighting, utility ducts, chambers and cable‑route installations.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Excellent attention to detail and effective communication with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
