Inspector I – Quality (Coating, Insulation & Fire Proofing)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Inspector I – Quality to oversee coating, insulation and fire‑proofing activities at its FABN yard in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that all work complies with industry standards, manufacturer specifications and safety requirements while supporting the company’s transition to more sustainable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that weather conditions meet applicable standards before work begins.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and documentation of painting/coating materials and MSDS compliance.
• Maintain material traceability and confirm correct material usage.
• Monitor contractor performance, verify applicator competence and certification.
• Check that inspection and test equipment is calibrated and serviceable.
• Supervise surface preparation, blast profiling and cleanliness throughout the coating process.
• Record wet and dry film thicknesses and ensure correct application techniques.

Required profile

• Minimum 120 months (10 years) of experience in quality inspection for coating, insulation or fire‑proofing projects.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NACE Level II and BGAS Grade II.
• Ability to read and apply manufacturer instructions, MSDS and technical data sheets.
• Experience supervising contractors and ensuring equipment calibration.
