Internal Audit Lead (Dubai)

About the role

Wise is seeking an Internal Audit Lead to head the UAE internal audit function across multiple legal entities. Based in Dubai, you will drive data‑driven audit techniques, continuous monitoring and automated audit routines to ensure robust control environments.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operate the internal audit assurance framework, including continuous monitoring tools.
• Develop and maintain the annual audit plan for UAE and MEA entities, updating the audit universe and conducting risk assessments.
• Build and support a self‑sufficient internal audit team locally and globally.
• Oversee delivery of audit engagements, ensuring timely and relevant outcomes.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations, measure effectiveness, and report to oversight committees.
• Foster strong relationships with the Board, local regulator and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Promote a strong control culture and embed meaningful assurance programmes across Wise.

Required profile

• Proven experience in assurance, risk or control roles within a financial or fintech environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deploy technology‑enabled assurance and data‑driven audit techniques.
• Strong stakeholder management and the capacity to shape audit methodology at regional and global levels.
• Experience leading audit engagements in fast‑paced, data‑focused settings.
