Internal Shari'ah Control Specialist

About the role

Madison Pearl is partnering with a leading UAE bank to hire an Internal Shari'ah Control Specialist. The role supports Shari'ah compliance, research, consultation and training across the organisation, ensuring all activities align with relevant resolutions, fatwas and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Internal Shari'ah Control in executing departmental duties and monitoring compliance with HSA, CBUAE and Shari'ah standards.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to assess annual Shari'ah training needs and prepare training materials on Islamic banking products.
• Deliver regular Shari'ah training sessions to relevant bank departments.
• Prepare research papers in line with CBUAE and HSA requirements.
• Provide Shari'ah consultation on business and operational matters based on approved resolutions and fatwas.
• Support implementation of Shari'ah compliance policies, procedures and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Shari'ah, Islamic Banking & Finance or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in Islamic banking and finance within a UAE banking environment.
• Strong understanding of Shari'ah compliance, Islamic banking products and Shari'ah governance.
• Experience with CBUAE requirements, HSA resolutions, fatwas and Shari'ah standards (highly advantageous).
• CSAA certification by AAOIFI preferred.
• Excellent presentation and training delivery abilities.
