IT Business Applications Manager

About the role

The Business Applications Manager will own and operate a portfolio of mission‑critical business applications for a leading transportation and aviation organisation in Abu Dhabi. The role blends application service management, business analysis and continuous improvement to keep systems running smoothly and deliver tangible business value.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational application portfolio, overseeing support, performance and lifecycle management.
• Manage BAU support, incidents, escalations and recurring issues, coordinating internal teams and external vendors.
• Monitor SLAs and vendor performance, driving corrective actions and service improvements.
• Work with business users to understand processes, challenge requirements and define enhancements.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, prioritised delivery plans and release schedules.
• Coordinate testing, UAT, changes and releases while minimising disruption.
• Resolve integration, API, data‑flow and application issues with vendors and technical teams.
• Maintain application roadmaps and prioritise fixes, enhancements and lifecycle activities.

Required profile

• Strong experience in business applications management or application service ownership in a live, business‑critical environment.
• Proven responsibility for post‑go‑live support, incident handling, vendor management and ongoing enhancements.
• Solid business analysis capability with confidence to challenge stakeholders.
• Practical understanding of service management, SLAs, incident/problem management and change/release processes.
• Experience in airports, cargo, ground handling or aviation is highly desirable.
