Japanese Sushi Chef

About the role

The Arts Club Dubai is seeking a talented Japanese Sushi Chef to lead the sushi kitchen section. You will uphold the club’s high culinary standards, delivering authentic Japanese cuisine to a discerning membership base.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the day‑to‑day operation of the sushi section, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Prepare and maintain sushi and Japanese dishes according to established culinary standards.
• Manage mise‑en‑place, follow FIFO, and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Adhere to all hygiene, food safety, temperature control, and storage procedures.
• Control costs, minimise waste, and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Support colleagues in maintaining high standards of food preparation and service.

Required profile

• Preferably Japanese nationality, as occasional travel to Japan may be required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role within luxury hotels or fine‑dining restaurants.
• Internationally recognised professional culinary certification.
• Good command of English.
