Java Technical Architect

About the role

As a Java Technical Architect you will design, develop, support and deliver robust, cost‑effective solutions that align with the client’s corporate and IT strategies. You will be responsible for cost estimations, business case development, solution design, configuration and deployment across medium to large projects.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business functional and non‑functional requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with solution architects to create scalable, high‑quality designs that meet IT standards.
• Lead technical design and build for complex solutions, reviewing and approving designs to ensure appropriate architecture patterns are used.
• Apply expert knowledge of the Java stack and design principles to solve complex business issues and represent software engineering in cross‑business initiatives.
• Champion automation and lean software development, conduct root‑cause analysis, capture lessons learned and help refine engineering playbooks.
• Drive the discovery phase of medium to large projects, produce high‑level designs, run proof‑of‑concepts and develop prototypes to validate ideas.
• Investigate, debug and fix complex issues, ensuring built‑in quality through collaboration with end‑to‑end quality assurance.
• Mentor software engineers on clean coding practices, debugging complex cases, writing tests and conducting code reviews.
• Develop accelerator frameworks and best practices to improve solution quality and engineer productivity, delivering code ready for production deployment.
• Execute functional, non‑functional and performance testing using appropriate automation tools.
• Measure and monitor engineering metrics that enable agility, scalability, data quality and reliability across the enterprise.
• Provide input into technical debt remediation strategies, working with environment, service, infrastructure and cyber‑security teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Java architecture or related technical roles.
• Intermediate career level (mid‑level) with a focus on solution design and delivery.
