Junior Buyer – Procurement

About the role

The Junior Buyer supports the Procurement Department in sourcing goods and services, ensuring cost‑effective purchases while maintaining quality and compliance with company policies. This entry‑level position works closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and the procurement team to facilitate smooth purchasing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify procurement needs and prepare/request RFQs in line with department procedures.
• Conduct bid analysis, negotiate pricing and payment terms with vendors.
• Monitor quotations, follow‑up on bids, and assist in order placement and delivery tracking.
• Track vendor performance and report evaluations to the procurement superintendent.
• Receive and verify procurement requisitions from stores and coordinate with the purchasing coordinator.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to broaden the supplier network.
• Manage cost‑reduction initiatives and analyze pricing impacts.
• Update procurement policies, service level agreements, and compliance documentation.
• Prepare accurate reports and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal users.
