Junior Smart Cities Engineer

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Junior Smart Cities Engineer to support the development and delivery of smart mobility solutions across the Middle East and the United States. The role combines client engagement, technical support, and innovation activities within a dynamic engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, maintain and prioritize smart city opportunities throughout the region.
• Participate in workshops and meetings to shape client engagement strategies and define scopes of work.
• Develop client‑facing materials such as presentations, scope documents and review reports.
• Provide technical support for the delivery or oversight of smart mobility solutions.
• Assist in selecting technology partners or consultancies for project opportunities.
• Lead or work independently on strategic or technical work packages.
• Represent the latest smart mobility innovations to the regional innovation committee.
• Strengthen client relationships through professional and technically sound interactions.
• Introduce fresh ideas and new approaches to streamline work activities.
• Support marketing and communication efforts, including publications and conference representation.
• Travel throughout the Middle East and the United States as required.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in a technology‑related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in technology or transport/civil infrastructure projects.
• Fresh graduates in civil engineering are encouraged to apply.
• Exposure to Smart City implementations or strong knowledge of current industry trends.
• Background in telecommunication networks is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong presentation abilities and proficiency with MS Office tools.
