Laboratory Manager

About the role

The Laboratory Manager leads all MAGMA laboratory operations at the BeAAT and NORM plants, delivering accurate characterization and analysis of hazardous and radiological waste. The role ensures full compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements while providing high‑quality analytical data to support waste reception, segregation, treatment and disposal decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and control daily laboratory activities, including sampling coordination, test scheduling and workload distribution.
• Supervise pre‑acceptance testing and waste characterization to aid sales, quotation preparation and treatment line selection.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve SOPs, safety guidelines and quality control procedures.
• Maintain equipment calibration, validation and traceability records; oversee routine and investigational analyses.
• Manage laboratory performance indicators, drive corrective actions and ensure audit readiness.
• Coordinate with waste reception, segregation platforms, HSE and commercial teams to provide timely analytical feedback.
• Lead and train laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and professional development.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing laboratory operations in hazardous or radiological waste environments.
• Strong ability to interface with cross‑functional teams (operations, HSE, commercial) and drive alignment.
• Demonstrated leadership in supervising staff and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
